Bucky was a great example of a caddie who made himself a great golfer despite having no home course.  He was instrumental in our undefeated senior year in team matches, with his help we won the Fairfield County championship by 19 strokes (4 players per team playing 18 holes -- you do the math), smashing the school one-day scoring record at NCCC and he personally finished 2nd in the State High School Championship.  He was a great friend and I'm sad he's no longer with us.  His smile was infectious.

I knew Ralph's sister Linda better than I knew him. Also marginally knew his sister Anita. They were a very close family and had a tremendous work ethic. Linda and Ralph also had an astonishingly quick witted sense of humor. Both were very smart too, but I think Ralph was credited as the "brains" of the family...whether or not that was the actual fact. We were far from having women in the limelight in those days. I was very sad to hear of his passing, not just because he was a nice guy, but because I felt the impact that his death must have had on his entire family dynamic. Gone but not forgotten by a long shot. We will miss you in September" Bucky."
